Outrageous: Fox News Outright Lies About
Article II Natural Born Citizen Requirement
This is way beyond absurd. It is one thing when a political commentator misrepresents facts but it is entirely something else when a straight news correspondent propagates unsettled opinions as settled facts.
Fox News' Kevin Corke erroneously reports Canadian-born Ted Cruz is eligible to be President by virtue of being born to American citizen parentS. The major problem with that claim is Cruz's father was not a U.S. citizen at the time of Cruz's birth. Never mind one must also be born on U.S. soil to be an Article II "natural born Citizen".
What is stunning about this is most of the reports arguing Cruz is eligible actually note it is not clear cut in their opinions. Yet, they continue to be pushed as a settled matter. By both the Left and Right.
It must be noted: In order for Cruz to qualify for U.S. Citizen status [which is not the same as an Article II natural born Citizen] his mother would've had to report Cruz's birth to the U.S. Consulate and she would've also had to meet the U.S. residency requirement as required by law at the time of his birth.
If Cruz's mother did not file the application for "Consular Report of Birth Abroad"(CRBA) in the required time frame then Cruz is not even a U.S. Citizen at all. Let that sink in for a moment!
Sad thing is Cruz's staffers refuse to respond to inquires for information about the CRBA application.
I wonder why!?
